Lifelong Phillips County resident, Lucile Maxine (Wells) Bohl, passed away on Tuesday, January 11, 2022 at the Phillips County Retirement Center in Phillipsburg, KS at the age of 94. She was born on March 15, 1927 in rural Phillips County to James Francis & Ellen Venelda (Smith) Wells.
Lucile was united in marriage to Clarence C. Bohl on March 19, 1944 in Lawrence, KS. The couple was blessed with two sons; Ronald & Clarence J. Bohl.
Lucile attended Rising Sun Rural Grade School and graduated from the Stuttgart Grade School . She then attended Phillipsburg High School.
Her greatest joy was being a wife, mother & grandmother. She was a homemaker & helped with farm work while Clarence worked in Phillipsburg. She was baptized & confirmed in the Lutheran faith & attended the First Lutheran Church in Phillipsburg as long as her health allowed.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Clarence who passed away January 20, 2002; 4 brothers, Victor, Carl, Lester & Vernon Wells.
Left to cherish her memories are her sons, Ronald (Beth) & Clarence (Jenny); 4 granddaughters, Christine, Theresa, Sheila & Lakota; 4 grandsons, Kenneth, Brian, Justin & Ronald, Jr.; her sister, Arvilla Lee, her sister-in-law, Cleta Wells, several great grandchildren, nieces & nephews.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, Jan. 18 at 2:00 p.m. in the First Lutheran Church, Phillipsburg, with Pastor James Peterson officiating. The service will be streamed live on the Olliff-Boeve Memorial Chapel Facebook page. Burial will follow in the Iowa Union Cemetery.
Visitation will be from noon to 9:00 Sunday & 5:00 to 9:00 Monday at the Olliff-Boeve Memorial Chapel.
Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice Services or the Phillips County Retirement Center.
