Edith Lucille Simmons, daughter of Albert and Marie (Cox) Simmons, was born April 12, 1933 at Lenora Kansas. She departed this life December 25, 2017 at the age of 84. She attended grade school in Lenora and Glade Kansas graduating in 1947. She graduated from Phillipsburg High School in 1951.

Lucille worked for the Duckwalls store in Phillipsburg, Kansas as a sales clerk and then payroll clerk for several years. In 1963 Lucille achieved her lifelong dream of becoming a licensed beautician, and then owned and operated the E and L Beauty Shop on the square in Phillipsburg for many years. She retired from the shop in early 2000, and then maintained the family home and doing church work until her health forced her to move to the Logan Manor in 2014 where she resided until her death.

Lucille was preceded in death by her grandparents Fred and Edith Cox; her parents; her sister, Margaret Judd, her brother Charles, and Margaret's husband, Francis Judd.

She is survived by her siblings Eleanor, and Allen both of Phillipsburg, Kansas, Raymond of Ellinwood Kansas; Bob and his wife JoAnn of Goodland Kansas. Nephews Gene Judd his wife Barbara and their family of Abilene Kansas, Mark Judd his wife Cindy and their family of Great Bend, Kansas; Delvan Judd of Phillipsburg, Kansas; Paul Simmons and Christine Haynes and their family, Hays Kansas. Nieces Mary Feemster her husband Frank and their family, Ellinwood Kansas; Tami Clark her husband Steve and their family Lawrence Kansas. Cousin Gary Kemper and wife Ellen, Phillipsburg, Kansas.

Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, December 30, 2017 in the Olliff-Boeve Memorial Chapel, Phillipsburg, with Pastor Lew Van Der Wege officiating. Burial will follow in the Marvin Cemetery, Glade, KS.

Miss Simmons will lie in state from Noon until 9:00 p.m. Thursday and 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. Friday in the Olliff-Boeve Memorial Chapel.
