Obituary

Phillipsburg resident, Shirley Lynn Vice, age 71, was born on February 7, 1950 and passed from this life on December 11, 2021 in Phillipsburg, Kansas.

Lynn is survived by a brother Bob Vice of Fallbrook, California and his wife Carilyn; a sister Kaye Seaman and her husband Jack of Las Vegas, Nevada, 6 nieces and 6 nephews, their spouses, and almost three dozen great nieces and nephews.

Lynn was preceded in death by her father F. B. Vice, her mother CleOra (Ridgeway) Vice, her sister Lovetta Wood, and brother in law Denzil Wood.

Lynn was born to Cle Ora and F B Vice in Pryor, Oklahoma on a snowy night in February. Lynn attended elementary school in Tokyo Japan 1956 to 1958, Monterey, California 1958 to 1961 and attended secondary schools in Sierra Vista, Arizona and graduated in 1968 from Buena High School. Upon graduation Lynn attended Cochise College in Douglas, Arizona.

Lynn was involved in sports from a very young age, being the very first girl to play Little League Baseball in Monterey, California in 1957- 1958. She was also instrumental in the formation of Women's Fast Pitch Softball leagues in Arizona and Virginia.

Lynn made her home in Manassas, Virginia in 1981 and was a supervisor for the Canon Cooperation until her retirement in 2011. She come out of retirement to drive a special needs bus route for the Manassas School District until 2019 when she moved close to relatives in Phillipsburg, Kansas.

Cremation was planned.  A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, December 16, 2021, in the Olliff-Boeve Memorial Chapel, Phillipsburg.  Services will be streamed live on the Olliff-Boeve Memorial Chapel Facebook page.  Inurnment will follow in the Pleasant View Cemetery, Logan.

Friends may sign the book from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral chapel.
