Obituary

Lynn L. Wallgren, son of Lloyd & Betty (Damewood) Wallgren, was born in Logan, Kansas on December 5, 1947, and passed away September 28, 2015 at the Smith County Hospital in Smith Center, Kansas at the age of 67.
On August 17, 1968, Lynn was united in marriage to Janeen Brunow at the First St. John Lutheran Church in Kensington, Kansas. Lynn was later baptized and confirmed in the church on March 30, 1969. The couple was blessed with two children – a son, Ty, and a daughter, Mandy.
Lynn began his marketing and sales career traveling the Midwest calling on dealers selling Century welders, and several years later, Makita power tools. In 1989 he founded Heartland Marketing, a wholesale distributing company, in Phillipsburg, Kansas. He just recently retired on June 15, 2015, after serving the community for 26 years. He was proud of the business that he and Janeen successfully built and expanded over the years, emphasizing that "this is a non-agricultural business that did not ask for any economic grants or tax breaks, which distributed all across Kansas and throughout the Midwest." Heartland Marketing was honored by the Kansas Department of Commerce as 'Distributor of the Year.'
Lynn was a well-respected businessman who thoroughly enjoyed his day-to-day business and working with his many colleagues. He also served on various church boards and community organizations.
His greatest pastimes were buying and selling vehicles and watching NASCAR races. He also loved a good card game and especially enjoyed racing golf carts with his grandsons, Zach and Brock.
Preceding him in death were his parents, Lloyd and Betty Wallgren.
Survivors include his wife, Janeen, of Phillipsburg, KS; his son, Ty & wife, Jeni, of Kearney, NE; daughter, Mandy Wallgren, of Hays, KS; grandsons, Zach & Brock Wallgren; his brothers, Rod Wallgren & fiance', Jackie Kramer, and Ron Wallgren, all of Hays, KS; his mother-in-law, Goldie Brunow of Smith Center, KS; sisters-in-law, Brenda Grauerholz & husband, Dean, of Beloit, KS and Karen Panter & husband, Dean, of Athol, KS; his very special Aunts: Margie Derochie of Aurora, CO, Bernice Wallgren of Dyson, AR, and Alice Rietzke of Kensington, KS; several nieces and nephews; some very special friends: Brandy Shelton, Dr. Joe Barnes, Kim Overmiller, and Russ & Joann Bowman; and, of course, his pal, Rusty.
