Marcia Gail (Francis) Paulsen, 64, passed away Wednesday, August 21, 2013 at Phillips County Hospital. She was born in Riverside, California to Merl and Geraldine (Hopson) Francis on October 18, 1948. The family then moved back to Phillipsburg where Marcia graduated from high school.

On May 5, 1968, she married Dennis Paulsen. They resided north of Phillipsburg near the family farm. They were blessed with two daughters—Tiffany and Courtney.

Marcia devoted her life to family, friends, and service to her community, especially with over 40 years of employment at First National Bank and Trust. She enjoyed hobbies such as knitting, craftwork, and music. Spending time with her grandchildren was a special highlight in her life.

Survivors include: her husband, Dennis, Phillipsburg; two children, Tiffany VanDerVeen, & husband, Curtis, Prairie View; and Courtney Martin, & husband, Tyler, Boston, MA; two brothers, Jim Francis and wife Marti, Greeley, CO; and Rick Francis and wife Brenda, Shawnee, KS; two grandchildren: Michael & Chloe VanDerVeen; nieces and nephews; other relatives and friends.

Marcia was preceded in death by her parents.

Funeral services will be held Sat. August 24, at 10:30 a.m. in the United Methodist Church, Phillipsburg with Rev. Gary Davison officiating. Burial will follow in the Iowa Union Cemetery, Phillips County.

Visitation will be from 12:00 to 9:00 Friday at the funeral home with the family receiving friends from 7:00 to 8:00 p.m.
