Margaret E. (Rhoades) Shelton, oldest child of three sisters to John & Grace (Tawney) Rhoades, was born December 17, 1925 in Ogallah, KS and passed away December 28, 2012 at the Phillips County Hospital in Phillipsburg at the age of 87.

On August 17, 1947, she was united in marriage to Dale W. Shelton. To This union two sons were born, Dennis & J.D.

Margaret was a grade school teacher for a few years, then a homemaker, working along side her husband Dale on his many business adventures. Margaret loved flowers and birds, spending many hours enjoying both. She dearly loved her children, grandchildren & great grandchildren. Margaret was a member of the First Baptist Church in Phillipsburg and a child of the Lord.

She was preceded in death by her husband Dale, son Dennis, her parents & two sisters, Viola & Shirley.

Survivors include her son J.D. and wife Leann of Phillipsburg, 4 grandchildren: Aaron, John, Heather & Jared, 5 great grandchildren & 4 step great grandchildren.

Private family services will be held with Pastor Joel Hiesterman officiating. Burial will be in the Fairview Cemetery, Phillipsburg.

In Lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Phillipsburg Western Heritage Foundation.

Visitation will be from 5:00 to 9:00 Saturday & noon to 9:00 Sunday at the funeral home
