Marjorie Ann Wolters, daughter of Harry & Edna (Wickstrom) Kinney, was born December 7, 1929 in Bayard, Nebraska and passed away December 23, 2010 at the Phillips County Hospital in Phillipsburg, Kansas at the age of 81.
She attended schools in Woodruff and Long Island, Kansas. On December 21, 1947, Marjorie married Alden Ivan Wolters in Phillipsburg, Kansas. The couple celebrated 50 years together before Alden's death in November, 1997.
Alden & Marjorie initially made their home in Long Island then moved to Phillipsburg, Kansas in 1952. Their family was blessed with the birth of five children: Kelly, Eldon, Vicki, Kayla and Debra.
Marjorie enjoyed her role as wife, homemaker and mother. Her children's activities were always a priority, even going so far as to coach Kayla's softball team when she "didn't know anything" about softball! She was active in the Presbyterian Church for many years, helping with the Dutch Market and working in the kitchen for various church events , as well as teaching Sunday school and Bible School.
In her spare time Marjorie loved tending her garden and flowers and enjoyed the challenge of crossword puzzles. She was a private person who cherished the time spent
with her children and grandchildren and always looked forward to their visits.
Her infant son, Eldon, infant daughter, Debra, and her husband, Alden, preceded her in death.
Survivors include her son, Kelly, and daughters Vicki Wolters and Kayla Wilson, all of Phillipsburg; and three grandchildren.
Memorial services were held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, December 27, 2010 in the United Presbyterian Church in Phillipsburg. Private burial was in the Fairview Cemetery, Phillipsburg.
