Obituary

Mark L. Runnion, son of Niles and Delva Jean Runnion, was born in St. Joseph, Missouri on January 21, 1969. His life was taken too soon in a house fire along with his two dogs and a bird on February 22, 2014 at his home in Logan, Kansas. He had recently celebrated his 45th birthday.
Mark graduated from Phillipsburg High School with the class of 1988. He was married to Hollie Rumbaugh for several years but the couple later divorced. Even though Mark had no children of his own, he helped change the lives of many children and people in the Logan community.
He worked full-time for Richard Ruff Welding in Logan. He was also a very dedicated volunteer firefighter and served as the Assistant Chief for the Logan Fire Department.
Mark was an amazing man who knew no strangers and always had a smile that could brighten any room. He was the first to offer help to anyone in need and was always willing to go out of his way for a friend.
In his little free time Mark enjoyed taking rides on his Harley, hunting, and getting "in trouble" with some great friends. He was a dedicated grandson to his grandmother, Elsie Runnion, and enjoyed spending time with her and keeping her company at Logan Manor.
He was loved by many and will never be forgotten.
Mark was preceded in death by his grandfather, Francis Runnion; grandparents, Ida and Ivory Damewood; and great-niece, Elle Kay Runnion.
He is survived by his parents, Niles & Jean Runnion of Glade, KS; brother, Mike & wife, Karen, of Glade; grandmother, Elsie Runnion of Logan, KS; nephews, Ricky Runnion of Phillipsburg, KS and Brian Runnion & wife, Eula, of Wichita, KS; great nieces & nephews, Olivia Runnion of Phillipsburg and Harper and Owen Runnion of Wichita.

Funeral Services will be held Thursday, Feb. 27 at 2:00 p.m. in the Logan High School, Logan, with Pastor Troy Buss officiating. Burial will follow in the Marvin Cemetery, Glade.

The casket will be closed. Friends may sign the book from noon to 9 p.m. Tuesday & 9 to 9 Wednesday at the Logan Funeral Home.

In Lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to the Logan Fire Dept.
