Phillipsburg resident, Mary Bell Stapel, 92, died Saturday, September 17, 2011 at the Phillips County Retirement Center in Phillipsburg.

She was born August 6, 1919 in Phillips County the daughter of Robert & Mary Emma (Cockroft) Norton. She was a homemaker.

She was united in marriage to Harold W. Stapel on March 13, 1939 in Alma, Nebraska. He preceded her in death on May 12, 1982.

Survivors include her two sons, Larry & Garry, both of Phillipsburg, Kansas; her daughter, Twila Runnion of Prairie View, Kansas; 3 grandchildren; and 3 great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, September 20, 2011 in the Olliff-Boeve Memorial Chapel, Phillipsburg, with Pastor Joel Hiesterman officiating. Burial will follow in the Pleasant Ridge Cemetery, Phillips County.

Mary Bell will lie in state from 3 p.m. to 9 p.m. Monday and again until service time Tuesday in the Olliff-Boeve Memorial Chapel.
