Obituary

Mildred Pauline Siglinger, daughter of Pryor Reid & Pauline (Rather) Jackson, was born March 22, 1925 in Byers, CO. She passed away December 5, 2016 at the Phillips County Hospital in Phillipsburg, KS at the age of 91.
Her early years were spent in Nebraska, Agra, KS, Florida and Phillipsburg, KS where she started school. Her first teacher was Doris Whitney. Mickey and her family then moved to Atwood, KS where she graduated from high school and began her career as a telephone operator, also known at that time as a "Hello Girl". She put calls through during WW II and met her future husband during her time as an operator. Mickey & Jack Siglinger were married on October 7, 1950 in Great Bend, KS. They had a devoted marriage for 66 years.
Mickey was a devoted mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She was intensely proud of their 3 sons; Stanley, a pathology lab supervisor, Marlin with a degree in nursing and respiratory therapy and Paul Reid with a Physics degree from Fort Hays State and an electrical engineering degree from Kansas State University.
She belonged to the Rebecca Lodge for over 60 years. While in the lodge she was Noble Grand of the Bird City lodge and District President of the Phillipsburg lodge. Mickey was President of a 600+ member PTA in Phillipsburg and was presented a lifetime pin. She was also President of her Christian Women's Fellowship, Modern Study Club and HDU. She was a devoted Sunday school teacher, which was one of her proudest achievements.
Mickey was preceded in death by her parents; her son Marlin; her granddaughter, Stacy Siglinger; 3 brothers: Albert, Phillip & Walter and 2 sisters; Lucille White and Wilma Rockenbach.
Survivors include her husband Jack of the home; 2 sons, Stanley & wife, Bonita, of Wakeeney & Paul & wife, Julie, of Fort Worth, TX; her daughter-in-law Karen of Overland Park, KS; 5 grandchildren: Jason & Jon Siglinger of Kansas City, KS; Kimberly Munk of Oakley, KS; Johann Buck of Chandler, AZ; & Morgan Lang of Wakeeney, KS; and 8 great-grandchildren: Maleigha, Delana & Brexton Munk; Sebastian & Olivia Buck; and Trevyne, Tegan & Tavian Lang.

Funeral services will be held Sat. Dec. 10 at 10:00 a.m. in the First Christian Church, Phillipsburg with Pastor LeRoy Herder officiating. Burial will follow in the Fairview Cemetery, Phillipsburg.

Visitation will be from 9:00 to 9:00 Thursday and Friday at the funeral home with the family receiving friends from 7:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Friday.
