Michael James "Mike" Swarts, son of Leslie C. and Joan (Hogue) Swarts, was born June 30, 1964 in Herington, Kansas. He passed away in San Antonio, Texas on June 15, 2013 at the age of 48.

Mike finished high school by earning his GED and then attended Culinary School in Texas.

He loved his animals and enjoyed fishing in his spare time. He was also actively involved in mechanics and drawing.

Mike is survived by his father & stepmother, Leslie & Sylvia Swarts, of Phillipsburg, KS; his mother, Joan Roberts of Higby, MO; brothers, Curtis Swarts of Ft. Riley, KS; Kenny Roberts and Russell Roberts, both of Moberly, MO; and sisters, Angie Johanek of Cawker City, KS; Lesley Nisbet of Lockney, TX; and Teresa Andrews of Centralia, MO.

Cremation was planned. A memorial service will be held Thursday, June 27, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. in the Olliff-Boeve Memorial Chapel, Phillipsburg, with Pastor Shelly Klingensmith officiating.
Friends may sign his memory book at the funeral home on Tuesday & Wednesday during regular hours, 9:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.
