Myrna Mae (Jamison) David of Lenora, Kansas, passed away at the age of 85 on Friday, October 22, 2010 at the Good Samaritan Hospital in Kearney, Nebraska.
Born June 2, 1925 to Marvin and Ruth (Wing) Jamison in Quinter, Kansas, she grew to womanhood in Graham County, Kansas. She attended the North Star country school and graduated from Lenora Rural High School in 1943, receiving valedictorian honors from both schools. After graduation she taught at the North Star school.
On December 30, 1944, she married Lyman David in Norton, Kansas. They made their home on the farm, first in Graham County and then in Norton County. In 1980 they moved to Lenora.
Myrna liked to travel and enjoyed sharing her garden, her needlepoint and her baking. In later years, one of her greatest pleasures was being "Grandma".
She was a member of the United Parish of Lenora, serving on many of the church's committees, and was also active in the United Parish Women's group.
Myrna was preceded in death by her parents; one son, Jimmy Dean David in 1962; one granddaughter, Holly Rene Conyac in 1971; and one brother, Gilbert Jamison.
Survivors include her husband, Lyman David of Lenora, KS; her children: Jennie & Marion Goldsby of rural Norton, KS; Nancy & Larry Conyac of Stockton, KS; John & Janet David of Lenora, KS; Roger David of Plainville, KS; Richard David of Midland, TX; and Lisa & Ron Archer of Logan, KS; friend, Mark Cox of Midland, TX; daughter-in-law, Denise David of Plainville, KS; brother, Dean Jamison of Lenora, KS; 15 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and many nieces, nephews and friends.
Funeral services were held Thursday, Oct. 28, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. in the United Parish Church, Lenora, KS with Jack Kersenbrock officiating. Burial followed in the Lenora South Cemetery, Lenora, KS.
Memorials may be given to the United Parish Church.
