Obituary

Nick L. Norris passed away November 13, 2017 at Phillips County Retirement Center, Phillipsburg, KS. Nick was born to Elmer and Elizabeth (Morgan) Norris on July 3, 1924 in rural Agra, Kansas.

Nick attended grade school at the Snow Country School and was a 1943 graduate of Agra High School. He married Dolores L. Klink on August 27, 1950 in Phillipsburg, Kansas.

Nick is survived by his son Brent, wife Beth and grand-daughter Erika of Glade, two sisters, Eva Basil of Lawrence and Lee Koehler of Elberta, Alabama, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Preceding him in death were his parents, a daughter Brenda, brothers Wayne, Roy and Floyd and sisters Edith Coady, Vena Carpenter, Violet Roller, Wanda Camby and infant, Hazel Norris.

Nick enjoyed family activities and watching and hearing about Erika's many activities and sharing history of Agra. For many years he enjoyed square dancing with Dolores as a member of clubs in Phillipsburg, Tonganoxie and Bonner Springs. He was a member of the VFW of Phillipsburg, Lions Clubs of Phillipsburg and Basehor, and the First Methodist Church, Basehor.

Nick was a veteran of World War II serving in the Navy. He worked for the Kansas Department of Transportation as a surveyor for 46 years in Phillipsburg, Goodland, and Kansas City.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, November 18, 2017 in the Olliff-Boeve Memorial Chapel, Phillipsburg, with Pastor LeRoy Herder officiating. Burial will follow with military honors in the Belmont Cemetery, Phillips County, KS.

Mr. Norris will lie in state from noon until 9 p.m. Thursday and 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Friday at the Olliff-Boeve Memorial Chapel.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Phillips County Retirement Center or Lions Club International Foundation for Sight.
