Obituary

Norma Jean (Hunt) Allison was born on May 15, 1930 in Evansville, Indiana to Jaime and Zelva (Corley) Hunt. She departed this earthly life on January 31, 2013 at the Phillips Country Retirement Center in Phillipsburg, Kansas at the age of 82.

Norma moved with her parents to Phillipsburg, Kansas from Evansville, Indiana shortly after she was one year old. She was a graduate of Phillipsburg High School and met Orlis Allison who was the love of her life. Orlis and Norma were wed in August of 1948 and to their union was born two sons. Norma spent the majority of her life as a stay at home wife and mother. She provided a warm and loving household for her family. Norma spent a lot of her free time in the service of the United Methodist Church in many capacities where she gained in her faith in God. She spent a great deal of time working with the United Methodist Thrift Shop. She spent many hours volunteering at the Phillips County Hospital passing out mail and talking with patients. Norma was known as an outgoing, warm, friendly and cheerful person. She will be missed tremendously by her sons, grandchildren, great grandchildren any many friends that knew her.

Norma was preceeded in death by her parents Jamie and Zelva Hunt and her loving husband Orlis Allison all of Phillipsburg, KS and brother Wendall and sister-in-law Colleen Hunt of McPherson, KS. She is survived by one brother Paul and Wife Donna Hunt of Phillipsburg.

Norma is survived by her sons Rick and wife Katha Kincaid Allison of El Paso, TX and Brian Allison of the family home in Phillipsburg, Kansas. Three grandchildren Brandi Allison Gurrola of El Paso, TX, Aaron and his wife Erin Allison of Humble, TX and Rikki Allison and her husband Michael Osegada of El Paso, TX. There are three great grandchildren Jacob Gurrola of El Paso, TX, Macklen and Declan Allison of Humble, TX.

Cremation was planned and a visitation will be held at the Oliff-Boeve Memorial Chapel in Phillipsburg, Kansas on Sunday February 3, 2013 from 3:00 pm to 5:00 pm. A grave side service will be held with burial in the Fairview Cemetery in Phillipsburg, Kansas on February 4, 2014 at 2:00 pm.

In lieu of flowers the family requests memorials be made to the Phillips County Retirement Center where Norma spent her last days.

We will miss you mom, grandmother and great grandmother. We love you and you live on within us and through us. Your family.
