Logan resident, Pat Smith, passed away Thursday, October 4, 2018 at the Kearney Regional Medical Center, Kearney, NE at the age of 55.
She was born July 27, 1963 in Norton, KS the daughter of Eugene & Miriam (Paulsen) Sansom. She graduated from the Logan High School with the class of '81.
Pat was married to Stan Smith on January 1, 1981 in Norton, KS. To this union two children were born, Kayla & Kyle.
Pat kept busy, she worked as the Social Director for the Logan Manor Nursing Home, then began her accounting career with Brooke Insurance in Phillipsburg, then as secretary for the Northern Valley Elementary School in Almena, followed by the Norton County Hospital in Norton, then she began working from home, doing what she loved, working as an accountant for her sister, Pams company SYNCHR, based in Colorado.
Pat loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren, and friends, whether it was at home, school events or at one of the many camping trips they went on. She drove the entire way to Washington State, stopping at Yellowstone National Park, when her kids were in high school, to visit family there. She also cherished the trips to Colorado with her adult children, and grandchildren.
Survivors include her husband, Stanley of the home; her daughter, Kayla Moore & husband Adam of Phillipsburg; her son, Kyle Smith of Logan, KS; her mother, Miriam Sansom of Norton; brother Rodney Sansom of Edmond, KS; 2 sisters, Pam Glick of Golden, CO and Linda Becker of Lenora, KS; and her 6 grandchildren, Emma Schwenn, Shaylee Smith, Savannah Moore, Kalen Smith, Korvin Smith & Shyla Smith.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, October 9, 2018 at the Logan Christian Church, Logan, KS, with Pastor Troy Buss officiating. Burial will follow in the Edmond Cemetery, Edmond, KS.
The family will receive friends Monday evening for visitation from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. at the Logan Funeral Home, Logan, KS. Friends may sign the book from 5 p.m. until 9 p.m. Sunday and again Monday from Noon until 9 p.m. at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to Her Grandchildren's Education Fund.
