Patricia Ann Schandler, 81, was born on January 26, 1935, in Kansas City, Missouri,
and died on January 14, 2017, in Hays, Kansas.
After living in an orphanage as Patricia Gribble, she was adopted in 1942 by Frank and Marie Riemann of Logan, Kansas. She attended grade school in the Densmore area and graduated from high school at Mount St. Scholastica in Atchison, Kansas in 1953.
On April 2, 1956 Pat was united in marriage to Eugene Schandler. They celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary last year. To this union two boys were adopted: Thomas Gerard in 1960 and Jerald Eugene (Damien) in 1964. Pat worked as a CMA at several care facilities in the Norton and Logan areas.
Pat's family and her Catholic faith were very important to her. She was known for being
a good cook and keeping a spotless home, which was always ready for company. At one
time, Bingo was a big part of Pat's life, too.
Preceding her in death were her parents and a son, Damien.
Pat is survived by her husband, Eugene; son, Tom and wife, Sue, of Logan, KS; two grandsons, Nicolas and Jordan; five great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
