Obituary

Paul Lamont Myers, along with his twin sister Rebecca Jane, were
born in Minneapolis, Minnesota on October 3, 1938 to Michael
Myers and Beulah Covell Myers. Rebecca lived for only 8 weeks.
Paul grew up in northern Minnesota where he accepted Christ as
his Lord and Savior and was baptized. He was an explorer scout
in high school and was the first silver award winner in the state of
Minnesota, the highest award given by the explorer scouts.

In 1958 he graduated from East High School in Duluth and joined
the navy. He was trained as a Fire Control Technician. He attended
Purdue University under the Navy Enlisted Scientific Education Program. He served on the USS Galveston CLG3 in both the Atlantic
and Pacific Fleets and also served aboard the USS Markab and USS
Hector. He did three tours of duty in Vietnam. He achieved rank of
E7 (Chief) within 9 years of service. In August of 1970 after 12 years of service he was Medically Honorably Discharged.

He earned a BS degree from the University of Wisconsin Parkside
in 1971. Then in 1976 he earned an MA in Educational Supervision
and Administration from Roosevelt University in Chicago. He taught
and worked as a school administrator for 29 years in the Waukegan,
Illinois school system.

Paul and Lois Nelson were united in marriage on August 19, 1961
in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Upon retirement they moved to Norton,
Kansas, where they lived for 14 years. Paul's life centered around
serving his Lord, his family, his country and his community in a variety of leadership roles in the church: Boys Brigade, Summer Camp-
ing Programs, and with Gideons International.

Paul was preceded in death by his parents and twin sister Rebecca.

Survivors are Roger & wife Tammy of Racine, Wisconsin; David and wife Erica of Waukegan, Illinois; Matthew and wife Jessica of Beach Park, Illinois; and Mark and wife Allison of Beach Park, Illinois; and by 14 grandchildren.

He is also survived by brother Roger and Marciel Myers, and sisters
Sherrill and Ray Fulayter and LoWanna and John Earls, sisters-in-
law Karen and Barnet Cox and Phyllis and Earl Scharnick.

Cremation was planned. The family conducted a memorial service at 3:00 p.m. Sunday at the Norton Christian Church.
