Pauline Ellen (Shoemaker) Mankin passed away July 21, 2013 in Salina, Kansas after a lengthy memory impairment illness. She had been a life-long resident of Phillipsburg, and was 94 years old.
Her deceased parents were also lifetime residents of the Phillipsburg area, Charles F and Esther M (Clonch) Shoemaker. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband William E Mankin of Phillipsburg, and her brother Norman K Shoemaker of Colorado Springs, Colorado.
She is a graduate of Phillipsburg High School, and prior to her illness had been a long-term active member of the First United Methodist Church. After her husband's death in 1968, she worked at K-N Energy in Phillipsburg for many years before retirement.
Pauline is survived by her daughter, Marilyn D (Mankin) Parker of Sylvan Grove and her family, and son William E Mankin, Jr. of Overland Park and his family. She had 5 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren.
Services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, July 24, 2013 at the Olliff-Boeve Memorial Chapel in Phillipsburg with Rev. Harlan Nonhof officiating. Burial will follow in the Fairview Cemetery, Phillipsburg.
Mrs. Mankin will lie in state from 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. Tuesday and again until service time Wednesday at the chapel.
Memorials may be given to the Good Samaritan's Fund at the Presbyterian Manor in Salina Kansas, or the Alzheimer's Association.
