Obituary
Phillipsburg resident, Phyllis N. Kennedy, died Sunday, March 9, 2014 at the Phillips County Retirement Center in Phillipsburg at the age of 75.
She was born February 14, 1939 in Natoma, KS the daughter of Floyd & Eva (Kirkendall) Beisner.
She was united in marriage to Bill J. Kennedy on October 25, 1960. He preceded in death on June 8, 1996.
Phyllis & Bill owned and operated Bill's Boot and Shoe Repair from 1984 to 1992, she then worked for the City of Phillipsburg as a dispatcher, before retiring in February 2004.
Survivors include three sons, Walter "Bud" Kennedy & wife, Cindy of Phillipsburg, Bill Kennedy, Jr. of Topeka, and Ray Kennedy & wife, Tammy of Phillipsburg; 1 daughter Linda Stokesbury of Long Island, KS; 4 sisters, Joyce Rupp of Phillipsburg, Linda Getty of Rusk, TX, Donna Wodecki of Holyoke, MA and Anita Bubier of Disputanta, VA; 10 grandchildren; and 3 great grandchildren.
Cremation was planned. A memorial graveside service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday, March 14, 2014 in the Fairview Cemetery, Phillipsburg with Pastor Joel Hiesterman officiating.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Phillips County Retirement Center.
