Robert Carl Ward, son of Carl & Hazel (Meyer) Ward, was born in Phillipsburg, Kansas on December 14, 1954, and passed away in Hays, Kansas on March 15, 2019 at the age of 64.
"Bob", as he was known to friends & family, attended grade school in Glade, Kansas and graduated from Phillipsburg High School with the class of 1973.
On November 15, 1975, he married Roxie Glaser in Phillipsburg. This union created a family including their son, Westly, and daughters, Holly and Ember.
Bob managed the Conoco service station in Phillipsburg for many years and then worked for Tamko until his retirement in 2010.
In his free time he enjoyed going to the family farm near Glade, Kansas, and also helping out at the Hanchett farm. He loved being outdoors, working in the garden and doing yardwork. Bob was also a NASCAR racing fan and was thrilled to get to attend one of the races in Kansas City.
Later in life he fought some major health battles and was proud to have been a two-time cancer survivor. He treasured his friends and was always willing to help them out when he could. Bob was a simple, hard-working man who loved his wife and family and was extremely proud of his grandson, Kayden.
His parents, Carl & Hazel, brother, Bill, and sister, Carol, preceded him in death.
Survivors include his wife, Roxie; son, Westly; daughters, Holly Ward and Ember Ward; grandson, Kayden; brothers, Doug and John; and sister, Shirley Robinson.

Cremation is planned. A Memorial Service will be held Friday, March 22 at 2:00 p.m. in the Olliff-Boeve Memorial Chapel, Phillipsburg, with Pastor Blake Stanwood officiating.

Memorial contributions may be made to his grandson's education.
