Ronald Wayne Molzahn, son of Fredrick & Nina (Cockroft) Molzahn, was born June 1, 1923 in rural Phillips County, Kansas and passed away Wednesday, May 20, 2015 at the Prairie Haven Nursing Home in Kensington, Kansas at the age of 91.
Ron grew up in rural Phillips County and attended country school until 8th grade, when he began helping his parents on the farm.
On May 1, 1943, he was united in marriage to Helen Louise Baker in Phillipsburg, Kansas. To this union three children were born: Phillip Lee, Ronald Edward and Sonya Kaye.
Ron & Helen engaged in farming and milking cows while raising their family. They retired from farming in 1991.
Ron's free time was spent working with his horses. He always had time to tell stories about the "old days" or to talk about horses. He especially looked forward to and enjoyed the time he got to spend with his grandkids.
His wife, Helen, and son, "Eddie", preceded him in death.
Survivors include his son, Phillip & wife, Lynda, of Kensington, KS; daughter, Sonya Adams of Topeka, KS; 12 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; 5 great-great-grandchildren; sister, Connie Gordon & husband, Francis, of Agra, KS; brother, Amos "Lee" Molzahn of Florida; and many nieces & nephews.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, May 23, at 2:00 p.m. in the Olliff-Boeve Memorial Chapel, Phillipsburg, with Pastor Dave Hutson officiating. Burial will follow in the Alma Cemetery, Alma, NE.
Friends may sign the book on Friday from 9 a.m. – 9 p.m. at the funeral home.
