Obituary

Shani Lee Hoover of Phillipsburg passed away Friday, January 15th, 2016 at the Via Christi Saint Francis Regional Center in Wichita, Kansas after a long courageous battle with breast cancer, at the age of 44.

She was born at the Norton County Hospital in Norton, Kansas on February 12th, 1971, the daughter of Neal and Linda Roth. She attended school in Phillipsburg and graduated with the class of 1989. She then attended Fort Hays State College for two years. She worked at the Chicken Inn, Loves Country Store, Phillips County Sheriff's department, Roth Seed Company, Phillipsburg Elementary School, and Golden Plains Credit Union until her health lapsed.

She married Daniel Hoover on April 17th, 1993 at the Church of God in Phillipsburg, Kansas. They had one daughter, Kinzee LeeAnn, on November 24th, 1998.

She loved with passion and lived with grace, strength, and dignity. She had a striking sense of humor and could make light of any situation. She loved her role as not only a wife, but also a mother, and was a huge success at both. Her faith in God kept her strong throughout her many trials. She was a friend to many and was always available to lend a helping hand.

Survivors include her husband Daniel and daughter Kinzee, of the home; parents, Neal and Linda Roth; three brothers, Shannon and wife Tammy Roth, Jerod and wife Amber Roth, and Garett Roth; mother-in-law, Betty Hoover; three sisters-in-law, Sheila and husband Don Roberts, Sherry Gillihan, of Phillipsburg, and Shelly and husband Joe O Mahony, of Cork, Ireland; and many nieces, nephews and friends also survive.

She was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Lloyd and Ruth Frans; paternal grandparents, Roy and Hazel Roth; father-in-law, Gerald Hoover; aunts, Kay Becker and Gayle Munyon; and uncles, Don Munyon, Roy Hoover, and Wayne Terrill.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, January 19, 2016 at the First Assembly of God Church in Phillipsburg with Pastor Dave Pugh officiating. Burial will follow in the Fairview Cemetery, Phillipsburg.

Shani will lie in state from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Sunday and 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday at the Olliff-Boeve Memorial Chapel, Phillipsburg, where the family will receive friends for visitation Monday evening from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.
