Speed resident, Shannon R. Schurz, passed away May 19, 2021 at his home in Speed at the age of 54.  He was born July 13, 1966 in Phillipsburg, the son of Walter & Georgine (Bittel) Schurz.

Survivors include his wife Joan of the home in Speed; son, Anthony Russo of Salina; daughters, Christina Gantenbein of Abilene & Jennifer Gaytan of Detroit, KS; brothers, Bob of Bonner Springs & Rick of Olathe; sisters, Dena Vehige of Hays & Connie Breese of Quinter & 7 grandchildren.

Cremation was chosen.  The family will hold a celebration of life service on Monday, May 24 at 11:00 a.m. in the Logan community building with Jordin Greer officiating.
