Sheryl Jean (Rosenberg) Gillette, daughter of Elven Finley & Bonnie Lee (Fleming) Rosenberg, was born December 14, 1948 in Phillipsburg, Kansas and passed away December 1, 2014 at the Pathways Hospice Care Center in Loveland, Colorado at the age of 65.
She graduated from Agra High School in Agra, Kansas with the class of 1966 and then attended cosmetology school in Salina, Kansas. Upon completion of her training she returned to Phillipsburg and worked at Mr. Hyle's Beauty Salon for a while before turning her attention to nursing and working in several nursing homes in the local area.
Sheryl then moved to Colorado, working in the Shipping & Receiving Department for the Micro-Motion Corp. in Gun barrel, Colorado.
She returned to Phillipsburg in the 90's and earned her CNA and Medication Aide certification. Sheryl worked from her home as a medical transcriptionist for a time and then returned to her nursing career. When her son, David Eller, passed away, Sheryl finished raising his boys (her grandsons), Brad and Wes.
When her mother needed continual care, Sheryl quit her job and shared the responsibilities of caring for her with sister, Dianne.
She had a love for the outdoors and enjoyed camping, boating and water skiing in her younger years. She and her sisters enjoyed singing together, especially gospel music, performing in church and at nursing homes.
She always looked forward to spending time with family, her children and grandchildren, and having coffee and lunch with her sisters and most of all, watching the Denver Broncos games with her son Jared.
Her parents; son, David Eller; brother, David Rosenberg; and sister, Zona Brackham, preceded her in death.
Survivors include her son, Jared Hanes & wife, Meaghan, of Berthoud, CO; sisters, Dianne Kennedy & husband, Dick, and Vonnie Younts & husband, Wayne, all of Phillipsburg, KS; and 6 grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, December 5, 2014 in the Olliff-Boeve Memorial Chapel, Phillipsburg with Pastor David Pugh officiating. Burial will follow in the Agra Cemetery, Agra, Kansas.
She will lie in state from noon until 9 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
