Obituary

Stacy Allen Runnion, son of Ronald L. Runnion & Betty J. Trijillo Turner Jean, was born on July 12, 1967 at the Naval Station Hospital in Patuxent River, Maryland. He passed away on July 15, 2010 at the Methodist Hospital in Omaha, NE at the age of 43.

He attended grade school in Phillipsburg and graduated from the Osborne High School with the class of 1985. Stacy returned to Phillipsburg often to spend time with his grandma & grandpa Jim & Gladys Hansen.

On May 16, 1988, Stacy enlisted in the United States Air Force and served during Desert Storm. He was honorably discharged on June 22, 1991 and returned to Osborne where he worked until moving to Phillipsburg in 1997 to work for the City.

On May 23, 1998, Stacy was united in marriage to Melissa James. He was a proud father to Mallorie, Derrick, Erica & Joshua.

Stacy took a lot of pride in his job. He enjoyed working with and helping the people of the community. He also enjoyed working with the youth and was very active for many years with the little kid's wrestling and baseball programs. His home and heart were always open to everyone and was always there to help in any way he could. Family was very important to Stacy, he was a very loving husband, father, uncle, nephew, grandson and friend. He was proud to be able to be his nephew Clinton's honorary father for his Eagle Scout ceremony or any other time he needed.
Survivors include his wife Melissa of the home; his children, Erica and Joshua Crain both of the home, Mallorie Runnion of Denver, CO, Derrick Runnion of Atlanta, GA; his mother, Betty J. Jean of Lawrence; his father, Ronald Runnion of Phillipsburg; 3 sisters; Rhonda Landsverk and husband Derrik of Wichita, Tia Means and husband Jeff of Wichita and Nycole Sturgeon and husband Brandon of Lawrence; his grandmother Gladys Hansen of Phillipsburg; his grandfather, Harding Runnion of Long Island; his aunt Eve Hansen & son Clinton of Phillipsburg; his uncle Richard Hansen & wife Waunita of Sidney, NE; his in-laws, Les & Becky James of Phillipsburg; 2 grandsons and many nieces and nephews.

He always had a smile on his face and a twinkle in his eye, his laughter was contagious. He will be sadly missed by all who knew him.

Funeral services were held Monday, July 19 at 10:30 a.m. in the Assembly Of God Church Phillipsburg with Pastor David Pugh officiating.
