Obituary

Stephanie Sue (Sage) Dusin was born July 8, 1961, in Phillipsburg, Kansas, the first of two children to Stephen S. and Mary Joan Sage. She passed away peacefully on February 4, 2026, at Logan Manor in Logan, Kansas, at the age of 64.

Stephanie lived her entire life in Phillipsburg, where she graduated from Phillipsburg High School in 1979. She went on to attend Kansas State University, where she was a proud member of the Gamma Phi Beta Sorority and earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education. It was a time that shaped her love for learning and her lifelong dedication to teaching.

On June 3, 1989, Stephanie married Allen Dusin at Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Stuttgart, Kansas. Together, they built a life filled with love, laughter, and shared adventures. Their union was blessed with four children: Lindsay Elizabeth, Jeffrey Allen, Mattison Sage, and Michael Scott. Family was always Stephanie’s greatest joy, and she took immense pride in supporting her children in every way.

Stephanie devoted 38 years to teaching, including 35 years at Phillipsburg Middle School in USD 325, shaping generations of students in Mathematics and Science. Teaching was more than a profession for her—it was her calling. She poured her heart into every classroom, inspiring curiosity, perseverance, and confidence in her students. Beyond academics, Stephanie’s love for coaching allowed her to guide and encourage countless young people, always leading by example and cheering them on from the sidelines. Stephanie’s life was a testament to devotion, both at home and in her community.

She cherished her children the most, spending long weekends following them to volleyball, football, wrestling, basketball and track events, rarely missing a game or meet. She could always be found in the stands, cheering, encouraging, and showing her unwavering support for those she loved.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Stephen S. and Mary Joan Sage, and her parents-in-law, Emil and Wanda Dusin. Stephanie is survived by her loving husband, Allen; her daughters, Lindsay and husband Matt of Phillipsburg, Mattison and husband Austin of Eaton, Colorado; her sons, Jeffrey and fiancé Abbey of Winston-Salem, North Carolina, Michael and wife Baily of Phillipsburg; her brother, S. Scott Sage and wife Candace of Phillipsburg; six cherished grandchildren, Peyton Sue, Jaiden Matthew, Paisley Jo, Nashlynn Knox, Dawson Allen, and Grayson Michael; as well as many cousins, nieces, and nephews.

Stephanie will be remembered for her boundless strength and perseverance, unwavering dedication, and the countless lives she touched as a teacher, coach, wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. Her legacy lives on through her children, family, and through the students and athletes whose lives were brighter for having known her.
