Terry Duane Shields, son of Ronald & LuJuana (Geist) Shields, was born June 27, 1961 at the Phillips County Hospital in Phillipsburg, Kansas and passed away June 17, 2013 at his home in Phillipsburg at the age of 51.
In his early years he attended the Scott City Grade School, Garden City Junior High School, and graduated from Deerfield High School in 1979.
As a young man he worked with his father in the roofing business, worked in the oilfields, and was later employed by Tamko Roofing Products in Phillipsburg for many years.
Terry was preceded in death by his father, Ron.
He is survived by his children, Austin Shields and Brighton Shields, both of Phillipsburg, KS; his grandson, Hunter Lee Shields; his mother, LuJuana (Lu) Baker & husband, Bob, of Garden City, KS; one brother, Jim Shields & wife, Kim, of Phillipsburg; two sisters: Kathy Prentice of Garden City and Cindy Oberheim of Holcomb, KS; and several nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles.
Funeral services will be held Friday, June 21, 2013 at 10:30 a.m. in the Community Church of God, Phillipsburg, with Pastor Tim Kraft officiating. Burial will follow in the Marvin Cemetery, Glade, KS.
Visitation will be Thursday from 9 a.m. – 9 p.m. at the Olliff-Boeve Memorial Chapel, Phillipsburg, with the family receiving friends from 7:00 – 8:30 p.m.
