IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Thelma
Bushnell
August 3, 1932 – June 2, 2020
Thelma Irene (Wallgren) Bushnell was born on the family farm south of Logan, KS to George and Elsie (Radloff) Wallgren on August 3, 1932. She was the oldest of their five children.
She passed away June 2, 2020 at Benton House Assisted Living in Blue Springs, MO near her surviving daughter and two grandchildren.
Thelma was a proud long time Logan resident and a graduate of the LHS class of 1950. After high school she attended business school in Denver. June 1, 1952 she married Dan D. Bushnell, a high school classmate. They had an exciting adventure as newlyweds as Thelma accompanied Dee on his two year Army tour in Anchorage, Alaska. After his discharge, they returned to Logan and raised their family.
Some of her fondest memories are from her 26 year career as Logan High School's secretary. She so enjoyed all the interaction with students and coworkers, and all the sports and activities.
Dee and Thelma were active members of the community and their church. They were friends, helpers and caregivers to many. They were married for 58 happy, fun-
filled years.
Thelma was an avid sports fan. She loved the Logan Trojans, Royals, Chiefs and KU. For many years, attending the Big 12 Basketball Tournament in Kansas City with friends was a highlight.
Thelma also was well known for her love of cards. She had so many special friends she enjoyed playing with be it pitch, bridge or Texas Hold'Em.
She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers Roger and Jack, husband Dee (2010), and daughter Dana (2009). She is survived by her sisters Peggy and Helen, daughter Lisa (Jack) Littrell, five grandchildren and five great grandchildren, and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
She was an example of a life well lived. Anyone who knew her surely won't forget her spunk, wit, and character.
