Logan resident, Thomas "Tom" W. Graves, passed away on October 16, 2024, at the Hays Medical Center, in Hays, Kansas, at the age of 65.
Thomas William Graves was born on July 6, 1959, in Wichita, Kansas, to parents George Frank and Mary Delia "MaryDel" (Higgins) Graves.
Tom was an avid KU basketball fan and rarely missed watching the games. He loved family reunions and opportunities to spend time with nieces and nephews. Tom was his parents' caretaker as they aged, spending countless hours helping them and maintaining their home and cars. Tom truly enjoyed his truck driving family and friends, often spending hours chatting on the phone while he traveled from one location to another.
Tom is preceded in death by his parents George and MaryDel, and an infant brother Michael.
Survivors include his brothers Bill of Georgetown, Kentucky, John (Heather) of Wichita, Kansas, Dan (Susanne) of Splendora, Texas, Rick (Cindy) of Bel Aire, Kansas, and sister Anne (Rodney) Palen of Beloit, Kansas, nephews Collin Gold, Austin (Rachel) Gold, Kevin (Carrie) Kellner, Joshua, Keegan, Mathew and Logan Graves, Caleb (Haley) Palen, and Vincent (Jenna) Palen , nieces Kalie (Luke) Henning, Alison (Aaron) Moore, great nephews Grayson Henning, Jameson and Bennson Graves, great nieces Brynn Palen and Kynslie Babb, aunts Gingy Baskett and Mikey Flores, as well as many cousins, friends, and coworkers.
A graveside service for Tom will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, October 25, 2024, at the Pleasant View Cemetery, in Logan, Kansas, with Father Trinity Savariyar officiating. Please feel free to wear your KU gear, or favorite team gear…Tom would love to see the support!
In lieu of flowers, memorials contributions may be made to the Thomas W. Graves Memorial Fund.
