Phillips County resident, Tillie L. Goracke, passed away Monday, September 24, 2012 at the Phillips County Retirement Center at the age of 87.
She was born October 21, 1924 on the farm near Macon, Nebraska, the daughter of Focke & Catherine (Miller) Diener.
Tillie was united in marriage to Francis J. Goracke on August 8, 1954 at the home of her parents. To this union two children were born, Harvey & Joyce.
She was confirmed at the Zion Lutheran Church, Macon, NE and attended the Englewood Church in Phillips County, KS. She enjoyed farm life and all that it brings, as well as tending to her gardens and taking care of all the animals. She loved spending time with family, especially her grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Mary Fox, Flora (Forden) Griesen, Louise Jensen, Leta Mae Diener & Gladys Diener; brothers, Habbe Diener and Earl Diener.
Survivors include her husband, Francis of the home; son Harvey & wife, Marilyn of Phillipsburg; daughter, Joyce Bretton & husband, Dale of Glade; 5 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; and a brother, John Diener of Franklin, Nebraska.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, September 27, 2012 in the Olliff-Boeve Memorial Chapel, Phillipsburg, with Pastor Joel Hiesterman officiating. Burial will follow in the Fairview Cemetery, Phillipsburg.
Mrs. Goracke will lie in state from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Wednesday and 9 a.m. until service time Thursday in the Olliff-Boeve Memorial Chapel. The family will receive friends Wednesday evening from 7:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. for visitation.
