Tommy Lee (Butch) McLaughlin, age 64, passed away Friday, December 14, at Hays Medical Center surrounded by his, family, after a short battle with cancer. He was born December 8, 1954 to Tom and Lola (McQueen) McLaughlin in Smith Center Kansas. He married Barbara Wise on March 20, 1987 in Paola Kansas. They made their home in Stockton, KS.

Butch owned his own terracing company, Butch's Construction. He was also a talented welder and mechanic. The love of his family always came first followed only by his love of coyote hunting. He also enjoyed playing pool and socializing with his friends. He loved picking on people. If he ever picked on you then you knew that Butch liked you.

He is survived by his wife Barb of the home, 3 daughters, Wendy Walker and husband of Stockton, Laura Betty and husband of Pueblo Colorado, and Jamie Becker and husband of Stockton, an uncle Carrol McQueen and Deanna of Stockton, a nephew Wes McLaughlin, and 7 grandchildren; Wyatt and William Walker, Michaela and Kody Odle, Kaitlin and Georgia Betty and Trent Becker and his beloved German Shepherds, Bubba & Molly.

He was preceded in death by his parents Tom and Lola McLaughlin, his siblings Linda Kester and Robert McLaughlin and his nephew Kevin Kester.

Cremation was chosen. A memorial service will be held Thursday, December 20 at 10:30 a.m. in the United Methodist Church, Stockton, with Pastor Nick Talbott officiating.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Butch McLaughlin Memorial Fund.
