Travis Dean Jensen, son of Larry Chris Jensen & Carolyn Kaye (Wurtz) Jensen, was born September 6, 1971 in Phillipsburg, Kansas and passed away February 8, 2015 in Hays, Kansas at the age of 43.

Travis grew up in Denton, Texas where he graduated from high school.

In 1989 Travis was united in marriage to Brandi Palmer Jensen in Wichita, KS, to this union a daughter, Amber was born. They later divorced. On October 9, 2007 he was united in marriage to Candie Sue Eller in Phillipsburg, to this union three daughters, Haylee, Cadynce & Glennae were born.

Travis worked mostly in the construction business, laying carpet, roofing and doing general carpentry work. He was most recently employed at Tamko Roofing Products in Phillipsburg.

He was a radical Chicago Bears fan who also enjoyed playing cards, video games and fishing in his spare time.

He was preceded in death by his father, Larry Jensen; his grandparents: Erma Jensen, Chris Jensen, Roy Wurtz and Ruby Nay; father-in-law, Glenn Eller; and uncles, Wallace Jensen, Robert Jensen and Franklin Jensen.

Survivors include his wife, Candie, of their home in Kirwin, KS; daughters: Amber Jensen of Wichita, KS and Haylee, Cadynce and Glennae Jensen, all of Kirwin; son, Chris Novak; mother, Carolyn Trammell of Glade, KS; 2 brother s Johnathan Jensen of Kirwin & Jimmie Lamb of Glade; and sister, Kristin Jensen of Hutchinson, KS; uncles, Jerry Jensen of Garnett, KS, Raymond Wurtz of Denton, TX, and Walter Jensen & wife, Betty, of Oberlin, KS.



Funeral services will be held Monday, Feb. 16, at 2:00 p.m. in the Olliff-Boeve Memorial Chapel, Phillipsburg, with Pastor Jonathan Gibson officiating. Burial will follow in the Marvin Cemetery, Glade.

Mr. Jensen will lie in-state on Saturday & Sunday from noon – 9 p.m. at the funeral home in Phillipsburg with the family receiving friends Sunday evening from 6:30 – 8:00 p.m.
