Vada F. Liebenau, 96, died September 25, 2011 at the Graham County Hospital in Hill City, Kansas.
She was born December 10, 1914, in Sugar Loaf Township, Rooks County, to Walter Scott & Bertha (Edson) Johnston. She attended grade school at Happy Hollow and graduated from Logan High School. Vada attended college at Fort Hays State University for one year, then taught for three years at Happy Hollow.
She became a member of the Mount Pleasant Church at an early age and later transferred her membership to the Stockton Methodist Church.
Vada married Harold L. Liebenau on December 25, 1936 in Stockton, Kansas. She was a homemaker and lifelong area resident, living in Farmington Township from 1945 to 1976 before moving into Stockton.
Her parents and husband, Harold, preceded her in death.
Survivors include three daughters: Rosemarie Karr of Stockton, KS; Janice Wilkens of Holyrood, KS; and Janet Dettmer of Kensington, KS.
Private family services were held with burial in the Stockton Cemetery. Olliff-Boeve Memorial Chapel, Phillipsburg, was in charge of the arrangements.
