Obituary

Wanda Faye (Barnes) Henrichs passed away Tuesday, July 25, 2017 at the Phillips County Hospital in Phillipsburg, KS at the age of 90.
She was born at home in Worth County, Missouri on October 21, 1926 to Clyde and Noma (Parman) Barnes. In 1939, when Wanda was in 8th grade, the family moved to Phillipsburg, Kansas due to Clyde's employment at the new refinery.
After graduating Phillipsburg High School in 1944, she attended Plat-Gard Business College in St. Joseph, Missouri. She then began working at her 45-year career with KN Energy in 1945. She was promoted to Office Manager in 1975 and later retired in 1990.
On September 12, 1948, Wanda Faye Barnes was united in marriage to Frederick "Bud" Henrichs. In 1955 they were blessed with one daughter, Amber. Wanda was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother who loved being called "Nanny" by her granddaughters, Renee and Melissa.
Wanda and Bud became dedicated members of the Presbyterian Church in April of 1949. She was also a charter member of the VFW Auxiliary. Wanda enjoyed cooking and baking for her family, fellow church members and many other community members. Her favorite times were delivering Christmas goodies to friends and baking dozens of cookies for the Nonamaker wheat harvest. She also never missed attending any of her granddaughters' events.
Preceding her in death were her parents and husband, Bud.
Survivors include her daughter, Amber & husband, Gary Nonamaker, of Cedar, KS; granddaughters, Renee Nonamaker of Overland Park, KS and Melissa & husband, Tyler Treinen, of Hays, KS; as well as many lifelong friends.
