Phillipsburg resident, Wayne Hanchett, passed away Friday, March 11 at the Phillips County Hospital in Phillipsburg at the age of 85. He was born July 19, 1925 in Hoxie, KS, the son of Wilbur & Ethel (Shaw) Hanchett. He was a farmer.

He was preceded in death by his wife Vera (Loyd) Hanchett on August 15, 1985.

He married Luetta Maley on Feb. 14, 1990.

Survivors include his wife Luetta of the home, his sons; Dale & wife Sherri & Blaine & wife Diana of Phillipsburg; 2 grandchildren, Dale II & Lucas; 6 step grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren, Trace & Brooke Hanchett and 11 step great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, March 15 at 2:00 p.m. in the First Lutheran Church, Phillipsburg, with Pastor Joel Hiesterman officiating. Burial will follow in the Fairview Cemetery with military honors by Ft. Riley.

The casket will be closed. Friends may sign the book from 12:00 to 9:00 Sunday & from 9:00 to 9:00 Monday at the funeral home.
