Obituary

Almena, KS resident, William G Alexander, passed away Sunday, November 24, 2019 at the Norton County Hospital, Norton, KS at the age of 72.

William was born November 26, 1946 in Omaha, NE the son of William G. and Gladys A. (Gipe) Alexander.  He attended school in Almena, KS before entering into the United States Army Reserves.

He was united in marriage to Gayle L. Troutner on August 26, 1967 in Almena, KS.  To this union, two daughters were born, Carmen and Candice.

Bill was a tireless worker and always kept busy with projects.  He held multiple jobs throughout the years.  He worked for several years at New Age Industrial in Norton, and eleven years for the city of Almena prior to retiring.

Bill loved anything mechanical and he could fix anything.  He was a pilot and enjoyed the challenge of building or fixing up planes, and flying them.  He was also a wiz on aviation history.  He could either be found in his hanger working on his planes, or in the garage working on a car, motorcycle, or anything else with a motor, while chatting with friends.

He enjoyed attending events his children and grandchildren were a part of.  He attended the Almena Congregational Church.  He was full of life, with a great love for music, singing and dancing.  He was always generous, and would help anyone and everyone, if needed.  He loved people and was kind to all.  He would offer a big smile and a hug upon greeting you.  Children and babies especially tickled him.

Survivors include his wife, Gayle of Almena; two daughters, Carmen Alexander and husband, B.J. Aragon of Newbury Park, CA and Candice Stevens and husband, Spencer of Almena, KS; a brother, Lyman Delimont and wife, Becky of Almena, KS; a sister, Joanne Miller and husband, Larry of Almena, KS; brother-in-law, Bob Garrison of Railroad Flats, CA; seven grandchildren, Spencer Stevens, Kynzie Rubio and husband, Quirino, Alex and Dawson Stevens,  and Dante, Dominique and Destiny Aragon; five great grandchildren, Amora Simoneau, Allena and Xander Stevens and Paige and Julian Rubio; and many other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Richard "Dick" and Russell Moreland; and two sisters, Loretta Groom and Marilyn Garrison.
