Phillipsburg resident, William "Bill" Ayres, Jr., passed away Sunday, July 13, 2014 at the Phillips County Hospital in Phillipsburg, KS at the age of 87.
He was born on January 22, 1927 in Linn County, Kansas to William & Vesta Grace (Lee) Ayres. Bill worked as a tool pusher for an oil well drilling company.
Survivors include his wife, Eva, of the home; sons, Robert of Branson, MO and Ron Parker of Quemio, KS; daughters, Willma Beach of Lexington, MO, Carla Marshall of Smith Center, KS, Doris Radabaugh of Phillipsburg, and Paula Hartman of Concordia, KS; 23 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, July 17, at 10:30 a.m. in the Olliff-Boeve Memorial Chapel, Phillipsburg, with Pastor Joel Hiesterman officiating. Burial will follow in the Fairview Cemetery, Phillipsburg.
Mr. Ayres will lie in-state Tuesday evening from 5-9 p.m. and Wednesday from 9 a.m. – 9 p.m. at the funeral home.
