Obituary

William Everett Baker, son of Everett Lewis & Vista Ruth (Mueldener) Baker was born September 27, 1943 in Abilene, KS.  He passed away on April 19, 2021 at his home in Phillipsburg, KS at the age of 77.

On May 18, 1967, William was inducted into the U.S. Army. He served his country in Vietnam where he received a Bronze Star with Valor for exposing himself to hostile fire while moving down a bullet swept alley to recover a wounded member of his company.  He was honorably discharged on December 18, 1968.

After being discharged, William moved back to Lyons, KS.  He eventually moved to Phillipsburg, KS where he was a truck driver.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his son Robert; his sisters, Martha, Phyllis, Nora & Diane.

Survivors include his wife Marinda of Phillipsburg; son Lewis, daughters, Michelle Beach & June Craig, all of Phillipsburg; 2 brothers, Tom of Omaha, NE & Lewis of California; 3 sisters, Judy Tye of Lexington, MO, Laura Madison of IL, & Deanna Hollingsworth of Parsons, KS; 7 grandchildren & 10 great grandchildren.

A private family graveside service will be held Sat. April 24 at 10:00 a.m. in the Fairview Cemetery. The service will be streamed on the Olliff-Boeve Memorial Chapel Facebook page.
