William "Bill" Edwards passed away Tuesday, April 27 th , 2021, at the Kearney Regional Medical Center in Kearney, NE at the age of 69.
He was born June 26 th , 1951, in Salina, KS the son of Robert and Emma (Foulke) Edwards. He enjoyed growing up in a small town and running wild with his two sisters.
While he was running wild, he became a professional kickboxer, a 9 th degree blackbelt, and rode with the Sundowners. One of his biker friends gave him a Book of Mormon and told him to read it. Bill said he "only read it to prove it wrong." When he was unable to, he decided to be baptized a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints on June 26, 1976 and served a two year mission in Halifax Canada beginning in December 1979.
He found and married the love of his life Carolee Orton in Logan, Utah on February 27th, 1987. They had three daughters, Kimberlea, Amberlea, and Leamarie. One of his favorite things to do with his family was dogsledding with their team of Alaskan Malamute Wolf cross dogs. His love of animals led them to have a farm even when they lived in the city. His dream of being a farm boy again was realized when they moved back to Kansas onto a farm.
Bill's hobbies included knife/ninja star/tomahawk throwing, shooting, fishing, gardening, card games, jewelry making, and building model airplanes.
Bill is survived by his wife Carolee of Logan, KS. Their three daughters Kimberlea and her husband Wade Palmer of Castle Rock, CO. Amberlea Edwards and her fiancé Mitchell Stahl of Norton, KS. Leamarie Edwards of Logan, KS. And his three grandchildren Calista and Everlee Palmer and Koen Stahl. And a sister Mary Bains of Mcpherson, KS. He was preceded in death by his father Robert and his mother Emma and a sister Cheri.
Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Friday, April 30, 2021 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, Phillipsburg, KS. The services will be streamed on the Olliff-Boeve Memorial Chapel Facebook page. Burial will follow in the Pleasant View Cemetery, Logan, KS.
Mr. Edwards will lie in state from noon until 5 p.m. Thursday at the Olliff-Boeve Memorial Chapel, 1115 2 nd Street, Phillipsburg, KS 67661.
