Obituary

Zachary Louis Lamont was the first son born to Missy and Curtis Lamont in Phillipsburg, KS on August 27th, 1986. It was clear from the start that he was a natural comedian and never knew a stranger. Around the time he was 4 years old he took on the role of being the best big brother to Ethan. Zach loved growing up on the farm, he was a member of 4H where he showed calves and pigs and deepened his lifelong love for animals.

Zach attended Kensington schools where he proudly represented the Goldbugs from kindergarten through senior year. He was active in athletics and lots of other school activities. He was voted Homecoming King in 2004, which wasn't a surprise to anyone since he had so many friends and spread joy and laughter in every room he entered.

After high school, Zach went off to Fort Hays State University but realized that being a lineman was his true aspiration. He soon graduated from the Electrical Power Technology program at Pratt Community College. Zach often reflected fondly on his career as a lineman.

Zach eventually moved back home to Cedar, KS where he held various roles as a contractor, manager, and handyman. He returned to the farm where he once again enjoyed the company of animals, friends, family, and his significant other, Misti. Zach was the proud Uncle to two fiery redheads. He was taking an active approach to getting Rhett Kain (6) interested in farm toys, even handmaking a tractor lamp from one of his old tractors. Ella Jane (2) shares his beautiful curly hair and hardheaded spirit.

Zach lived his life by the motto "its more about the life in your years, than the years in your life", and that's just what he did. He leaves behind a legacy of fun filled days (and nights), a soft spot for animals, and a love for his family and friends.

Survivors include his parents Curtis and Missy Lamont of Cedar, KS; brother Ethan Lamont and wife Jen of Nesbitt, Mississippi; nephew Rhett; niece Ella; and significant other Misti Swank of Claudell, KS.
